Community

Dark Age of Camelot is more than a just a game; it has forged communities bound together by their passion for it throughout the entire world. After sharing numerous memorable adventures, establishing guilds and forming alliances, players often gather together in the real world to celebrate their experiences in game and have a good time. Lasting friendships can therefore be born and wedding bells have been known to chime from time to time !

An international community

With the game's adaptation in 5 languages, Dark Age of Camelot has produced national communities, which gather on forums devoted to the game. Yet well beyond these three languages, players of all nationalities meet on the European servers of Dark Age of Camelot. Many create their own websites and a forum for their guild, which can count hundreds of members. For each language, Community Managers follow the game and regularly offer activities and events.

In addition to the game, meetings in real life

Various events provide an opportunity for game enthusiasts to meet "in real life".
Some official gatherings take place in the form of public game shows, including the Leipzig Game Convention and the Paris ‘Festival du Jeu Vidéo’, where the Goa team welcomes players to its stand. Players sometimes organise their own gatherings with their guild, other players in their realm or their server and will travel the length and breadth of the country or venture abroad to meet each other. Some also meet in network game rooms to play together in a lively environment and put into practice team strategies live. Other events based around medieval or fantasy themes also provide an opportunity for like-minded players to meet and share their similar interests.

Access to the community

The first link between players, outside of the game, is the official community site, a necessary starting point to subscribe to the game or to renew a subscription. Players can find important news on the site as well as info in the weekly news section, announcements and reports of activities and also the chronicles of conflicts between the realms, guild rankings, etc.
In addition, there are links to websites and their forums, and of course the forums of more general sites where players can share their advice and opinions. Then it is up to the individual to get involved, either inside or outside of the game and to join communities according to his or her respective interests. Communicating by e-mail, then meeting in real life and who knows, perhaps one day a life-size reconstruction of Dark Age of Camelot in the "real world"?
